25 July β 8 October
the coastal calendar, shifted 24 days later for this region
Walls, ruins and railway cuttings inland; replaces the Italian wall lizard away from the sea.
The most cold-tolerant lizard here, which is why it is the one still active on Velebit in October when everything else has gone under. Males hold small territories on a single wall face for the whole season.
