Sea cliffs on Cres, Krk and PrviΔ, and the thermals above the Velebit ridge.
One egg a year, incubated through the winter, and the chick is on the ledge for four months. A fledgling's first flight is out over open sea; boats that approach a bird resting on the water are the single biggest cause of losses on Cres.
